If you love vibrant colour and texture then this is the workshop for you! Come along to weave with textiles tutor, Julie Hicks and create a fabulous tactile wall hanging.

In this workshop you will be shown how to warp up your wooden frame ready for weaving. You will be shown how to add different techniques to make an interesting combination of mixed fibres including merino wool, core spun wool, fabric strips, macramé cord and much more. You will learn how to finish your weave by removing it from the loom and how to add the dowel ready to hang.

Meet your tutor

Julie is a textile artist and florist who has a passion for colour and texture . With a degree in Textile design she likes to experiment with different fibres and textiles , using them in a modern way and with a modern twist.

Inspiration is everywhere. Including graffiti, colour combinations and textures in everyday life. Always experimenting and trying different techniques to keep her work relevant and interesting.

Being in a room with like minded people, passing on skills and chatting is how she likes to spend her time.
