Do you want to improve your existing sewing skills and take things to the next level? Are you afraid of sewing the dreaded zipper and need a little helping hand? If so this improvers sewing workshop is just what you need.

You'll start the day by making a small zipped pouch from a simple pattern, using a variety of different fabrics and zips available. This will allow you to practice the method of inserting a zip into a bag, along with learning the basic technique of constructing your pouch.

After lunch you’ll make a beautiful and functional Japanese design wax canvas washbag, complete with outer pockets, waterproof lining and a zip closure. All the materials will be pre-cut and you'll have the choice of 2 different fabric patterns for your washbag.

This sewing workshop is ideal if you've had some general sewing experience in the past but need some guidance to learn new techniques. Great for challenging yourself and building the confidence to tackle more difficult projects! You’ll be provided with all the materials along with detailed step by step instructions on how to sew your bag.

You will learn:

  • General sewing techniques

  • Edge stitching

  • Sewing a zipper

  • Boxing corners

  • Using interfacing

  • Achieving a professional finish

Lauren will guide you through the whole process, providing plenty of tips and tricks on sewing techniques for future projects.
