Each week you will study a new subject and use mixed media suited to that subject. By using different mediums, you can bring life and expression to your art. Mark will introduce new mediums to explore how they work together.
In the next five weeks you can explore the colours in your pallets. Colour gives you vibrant and drop dead gorgeous paintings, the five weeks are designed for the beginner and more experienced artists.
A new technique is explored every week and the subject is chosen to express this, you will be encouraged to find your own painting style, in your own way within the sessions.
Demonstrations will be given, and Mark is always on hand to help.
Week 1 Market place - pencil , collage and ink.
Week 2 Cirencester church - poster paint and pastel

Week 4 Row of Cotswold cottages - ink drawing and pastel

You are welcome to bring a lidded bottle of water with you but we kindly ask that you do not bring food into the studio.

What you will need:
Basic materials will be provided but you may wish to have your own set of the following:
• Drawing Pencils
• Masking tape
• Water pot
• Tear off mixing palette
• Rubber
• Something to take your work home in each week
If it is good weather your class will be taken outside to work so please wear appropriate clothing and bring a portable chair.
MEET YOUR TUTOR
Mark has run many classes and workshops in watercolour, pastels, painting and life drawing over the last 15 years.
Starting as a tutor at Stroud College, he then decided to run his own classes, starting at Ruskin Mill, moving onto Friggs Mill, Rococo Gardens, Lansdown Road in Stroud, Painswick Mill and Randwick Village Hall.
Mark is known for his free approach to painting and drawing. He likes to have fun with colour and experiment with techniques, never wishing to stay still on one subject. Many reviews of his exhibitions have said “It’s like looking at many artists, not one.”
Mark has a degree in fine art from Kingston Art College, and a further adult teaching certificate.
