Enjoy a day exploring colour and textures using disperse dyes and the heat press to create unique botanical designs.

You will use fresh and dried leaves and grasses and prepare them for printing using disperse dyes , after a demonstration of the heat press you will prepare your own dye papers and explore a variety of techniques using different textures . In the afternoon you will print onto fabric and create surprising results.

Please note that this workshop is for those aged 18 and over.

You are welcome to bring a lidded bottle of water with you but we kindly ask that you do not bring food into the studio.

Meet Your Tutor

Clare has always had a love of Textiles, dressmaking, felt making, silk paper making and printed textiles are particular interests and a passion for colour and texture inspire her work.  Recent trips to India and a growing collection of old printing blocks have been at the centre of block printing workshops, but the use of the heat press add a new dimension to her printed textile work. Clare has exhibited her Textile work within Art Societies and galleries in the UK and shared her enthusiasm for Textiles as a teacher to all age groups for many years.
